Impressions of the Outer Banks

Brian talks about “Impressions” and his love for the Outer Banks:

“I grew up in Elizabeth City, North Carolina and was able to spend a lot of time on the Outer Banks during summers. Even after moving away, I am still drawn to this area. The history and legends of the Outer Banks have always fascinated me and this CD is the culmination of a life-long love affair with this area of North Carolina. My attempt with this album was to try and capture the natural beauty and history of this region through music in an impressionistic and cinematic style. I hope you enjoy it.”

What other people are saying about IMPRESSIONS OF THE OUTER BANKS:

Lovely Jazz CD

“This is great music to relax to or have in the background while working. Very nicely done. Somehow, many of the instruments do give an impression of the NC coast and life there. Makes me want to go to the beach.” –Loretta

I can’t keep from listening to it

“Having visited the outer banks on a number of occasions this CD takes me back in my memory and thoughts to that beautiful place and the good times enjoyed there. I play it at home and at my office.” -Mike Irvin

Beautiful in the way 10 shades of blue at one glance is.

“Impressions of the Outer Banks is a “blue marlin” (for all you outer bankers). In Brian Hobbs’ compositions you feel the waves and sea spray, shifting currents and scorching sands. It is a beautifully constructed homage to the outer banks of North Carolina.” -June Sylvester Saraceno
